Commitment to Enterprise Architecture

INDUSTRY: INSURANCE

Objective: Making the Commitment to Enterprise Architecture

Business architecture is the bridge between the business model and business operations. It can be modular, but enterprise architecture pulls all of the systems and elements of a corporation and integrates the systems with the people, production and functions of the business senior leadership of a full-service, multi-line provider of banking and insurance solutions endeavored to migrate their processes and projects to an enterprise architecture approach.

Solution: Gather the Eagles

Embarking on a major transition requires a meeting of the minds:

  1. The Operari Group held a series of executive workshops with upper management to analyze the organization's perception and documentation of current operating processes and procedures.
  2. Upon completion of the workshops, a consensus of leadership resolved that a full architectural transition was significant and represented a multi-year journey. The client would need to in-source this work to be effective in the long run.
  3. Operari began working with the senior leadership team and directors on both the business and operations sides to establish a “business architecture framework” with customized tools and templates that could be leveraged internally through the course of the transformation.

As internal project teams were established, Operari consultants assumed roles as coaches to the teams and eventually rolled off completely as the client became fully self sufficient.
